Ginger Pelz | Account Executive The ski bum wears Prada Many spend the months after college in pajamas, sleeping until noon to avoid the “real world.” Not Ginger. This gal had passions to follow, not to mention far too much fashion sense to be caught in her pajamas all day long. After graduating from the University of Central Arkansas with a degree in Marketing, Ginger stood at a crossroads. One road led to a career in fashion, and the other to the simpler life of a ski bum. Having completed her applications for Fashion Merchandising School, Ginger decided her future would rest upon whether she received a coveted scholarship awarded to just one applicant. Leaving it all in the hands of fate, Ginger reminded herself that “everything happens for a reason.” Alas, Ginger was not the chosen one. As the door to the fashion world shut, Ginger packed her stylish ski clothes and headed to Keystone, Colorado. Ginger landed a job as a vacation coordinator in Keystone, where she honed her customer service skills between runs down the slope. While she was helping visitors arrange their vacations, Ginger discovered a passion for helping people solve problems, and also developed skills in communications and project planning. After a year of embracing new adventures at high altitudes, Ginger knew it was time to leave the small town and head to Colorado’s big city to pursue greater challenges. By matching her natural interpersonal skills with her newfound passion in problem solving, communications and planning, she soon landed a position with MGA. While these skills served her well in the ski world, they serve her even better at MGA. After a hard day’s work you can find Ginger looking stylish as she enjoys the perks of city living, from cheering on the Rockies to hitting up a local fashion show to strolling through Denver’s art museums. From time to time, Ginger feels an itch for the low-key mountain living she left in Keystone, but lucky for MGA, a season pass is just enough to scratch it.
Interesting Fact Ginger grew up on 13 acres of land in the small town of Siloam Springs, Arkansas—complete with a pond, ducks, chickens, rabbits, cows, and plenty of dogs and cats. E-mail Ginger | LinkedIn | twitter.com/gpelz |
