FEMA Urges Americans to Join in Memory of 9/11 Victims, Responders
As the nation battles hurricanes, tropical storms and wildfires this fall, the need for disaster preparedness is clear.
As he kicked off National Preparedness Month, FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate encouraged all Americans and businesses to increase their disaster readiness by joining the National Preparedness Month Coalition.
Because communities recover faster if the whole community is prepared for disaster, FEMA, an MGA client, is asking private-sector organizations as well as individuals to get involved in the coalition. Becoming a member is easy—and free. In just 97 seconds, you can register yourself or your business. Once registered, you’ll gain access to preparedness training, tools and networking opportunities with thousands of others across the country.
All coalition members can download articles, join discussion forums, share success stories and receive business preparedness tips to help your organization in the event of disaster. You can also sign up to receive weekly preparedness tips and news alerts about:
- Upcoming webinars about how to prepare your employees, customers and loved ones against disaster;
- New digital tools offered by FEMA, including an app that stores family emergency information, provides disaster safety tips and displays shelter and disaster recovery locations;
- Updates on preparedness events offered by FEMA and others in your area.
Become a coalition member today and encourage others to join with you. It takes a whole community to prepare, respond and recover from disaster, so do your part to keep America safe.
