MGA Communications' President Jeff Julin Named PRSA Fellow
Elite distinction bestowed upon Julin, two other Denver PR leaders
DENVER - Jeff Julin, president of MGA Communications, was named a Fellow last week by the Public Relations Society of America, along with Coloradans Jane Dvorak and Sydney Ayers. The College of Fellows was created in 1989 to honor the accomplishments of the best in the public relations profession and now boasts more than 400 members.
"We're incredibly proud of Jeff for his many accomplishments. This is a well-deserved honor," said Mike Gaughan, chairman of MGA. "To see two other Coloradans named Fellows as well is a testament to the great public outreach work going on all throughout the state. We congratulate Jane and Sydney on their terrific achievements."
The Fellows set the gold standard for ethics, excellence and service, recognizing public relations professionals who have left a footprint on the field of public relations, their organizations, their communities and PRSA. They come from diverse backgrounds - corporations, agencies, government, nonprofit associations and educational institutions.
While honoring individuals, the College of Fellows functions as more than an honorary society. United by their passion for the profession and their record of achievement - as well as by a commitment to giving back, the College of Fellows offers leadership to PRSA and the profession through the activities of its members, including mentoring, speaking engagements and advocacy for the value of public relations to diverse audiences.
Julin is a past Chair and CEO of the 25,000-plus member PRSA. As a member of the organization's Board of Ethics and Professional Standards Committee, Julin was part of the team that completely rewrote, updated and modernized the PRSA's Code of Ethics to the version still in place today. Julin is also a past president of the Public Relations Organization International, the oldest international network of independently owned public relations firms, and the largest network by fee income. Earlier this year, Julin was recognized by the Colorado Chapter of PRSA with the Swede Johnson Lifetime Achievement Award. Over the course of his career, Julin has served clients such as Pfizer, Johns-Manville Corporation, QEP Resources, Regional Transportation District, JD Edwards, Shell Oil Company, and US WEST (now Qwest).
