Like many businesses and organizations in the Denver area, MGA Communications has a strong commitment to enhancing the Denver community through our volunteer and pro bono work. In fact, we were just recognized as the Denver Business Journal’s 2010 Small Business of the Year for their Partners in Philanthropy Program.
We are honored to be selected among other winners including Qwest Communications International, Education Partner of the Year, Wheeler Trigg O’Donnell LLP, Medium Business of the Year, CoBank, Large Business of the Year and Peter Beaupre’, President PCL Construction Enterprises Inc., Corporate Citizen of the Year.
The award was given in part for our two-year-old Nonprofit Buzz series, MGA’s pro bono work with nonprofit clients and our commitment to the health of our community.
MGA’s Nonprofit Buzz series features free quarterly workshops that give local nonprofits an opportunity to learn more about communications topics in a comfortable small-group setting. Representatives from more than 100 nonprofits have participated, and we’ve learned as much from talking to them as we hope they have from us. Please let us know if you’d like to be added to our list to receive news about upcoming topics.
MGA has proudly counted nonprofits among our clients for decades. From supporting Colorado Contemporary Dance in the late 1980s to helping launch the inaugural Colorado Colfax Marathon in 2006 to providing consultation and special event execution for the Colorado Veterans’ Monument Preservation Fund, MGA has had the pleasure of working alongside organizations that are changing our community for the better.
As we celebrate National Volunteer Week, some of us will share our experiences in volunteering or working with nonprofit organizations with you on our blog in the coming days. We’d love to hear about your experiences as well.
